Bay City, Mich. - GVSU sophomore Allie Tyler was again named the GLIAC Women's Golf Athlete of the Week on Tuesday (Sept. 30), marking the second straight week she has received the award. Tyler took home medalist honors at the Bing Beall Fall Classic in Arlington, Ohio over the weekend, as the Lakers finished in second place with a team score of 606.

Tyler notched rounds of 71 and 75 for a 146, good for +2 for the tournament. She finished three strokes ahead of her nearest competitor, Alison Meyer of Ferris State.

The Lakers had four players finish in the top-10 and all five golfers in the top-15 of the tournament. GVSU finished two strokes behind Ferris State (604), easily outdistancing Ashland (637), Findlay (+69), and Gannon (+109).

Grand Valley State heads to Tampa, Fla. on Oct. 6-7 for the South Florida Tournament, being hosted at the Waterlefe Golf Club.
