Pace, Fla. - Grand Valley State junior Tracey Puckering shot a +1 73 on Thursday and currently stands in fifth place at the 2007 NCAA DII National Champoinships in Pace, Florida at Soneybrook Golf Club. Puckering has a two-day total of 149 (+5), three shots back of leaders Lindsey Bergeon (Florida Southern) and Daniela Iacobelli (Florida Tech) who are both +2 (146).

Puckering was even through her first three holes of the day, but bogeyed the par 4, 372-yard fourth hole. Puckering got that shot back with a birdie on the par 4, 288-yard sixth hole. However, a bogey on hole number eight, a 359-yard par 4, put Puckering back at +1. Puckering was able to get back to even par with a birdie on the long par 5, 475-yard ninth hole, and went to -1 with a two on the par 3 12th. A bogey on the par 5 13th hole moved Puckering back to even par and a four on the par 3, 145-yard 15th hole moved Tracey to +1. Puckering pared the final three holes was even par on the back nine for an 18-hole total of 73.

Puckering will continue play Friday morning.
