Bay City, Mich. - Ashley Smith was named the GLIAC Women's Golf Athlete of the Week following her second-place finish at the Ball State Cardinal Classic in Muncie, Ind. This marks the second time that Smith has won the award during the 2007-08 school year after winning it on Oct. 2.

Smith shot an invitational-best 71 on day two to finish in second place overall and help the Lakers to a second-place finish at the Ball State Cardinal Classic held at the Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Ind. Smith shot a 78 on day one, followed by a 71 on day two to finish with a score of 149 overall, just one stroke back of first place.
