Allendale, Michigan - The women's golf team placed second at the Bronco Invitational held at the Moors Golf Club in Portage, Michigan on April 13 and 14. The Lakers continued their success this spring finishing second in an invitational where seven of the ten participating schools were NCAA Division I. The Lakers posted at two-day total of 656 which placed them only behind host Western Michigan who came in with a mark of 625. Melissa Sneller was the top finisher for GVSU with a score of 160, which tied for seventh place. Melissa Riegle shot a two-day total of 165 to finish tied for 15th. Teammates Kristi Vienneau and Shannon Briggs each finished with a score of 168 to tie for 24th overall, and Nicole Augustine shot a 171 to tie for 35th.

GVSU has won two invitationals this season, finishing in the top spot in both the Oiler Spring Invitational, and the Northern Kentucky Invitational. The Lakers will be in action again on Friday and Saturday, April 18-19, at the University of Illinois.
