Allendale, Mich. - The Grand Valley State women's golf team has been featured in the Winter 2010 issue of Student Golfer Magazine after a successful fall 2009 season in which the Lakers won four of the six tournaments in which they participated. It was the first issue of the year for Student Golfer Magazine, which profiled second-year head coach Rebecca Mailloux and her Laker team that earned its first-ever #1 ranking in December 2009.

During the fall season, Grand Valley State won the Ferris State Invitational, the Laker Classic (hosted at The Meadows on GVSU's campus), the Bing Beall Classic, and the Zippy Invitational, several of which featured Division I competition. The Lakers begin their spring season on March 10-11 in Mesa, Ariz. at the Ashland University Desert Invitational.
