Laker Fall Classic Final Results
Allendale, Mich. - The women's golf team racked up yet another victory by defending their home turf at the Laker Fall Classic at The Meadows on Sunday (Oct. 23), winning the team trophy while senior Sarah Hoffman won her third straight individual medal.
Hoffman, after carding the only round in the 60's the entire tournament on day one with a 69, shot a 76 in the final round to finish at 145 (+1) and capture her third straight individual trophy.
Freshman Kelly Hartigan and sophomore Veronica Ryan both tied for ninth place in the individual standings with a 157 (+13) after Hartigan posted a 79 in the final round and Ryan shot a 76.
Junior Ashley Beard finished in 14th with a 159 (+15) two-round total after shooting a 77 on day two of the competition.
Junior Marni Weinstein finished in a tie for 58th place after she shot an 85 on Sunday. Playing as individuals, freshman Molly Esordi finished in a tie for 26th after carding a 79 in the final round to finish at 164 (+20) while sophomore Cassady Kauble had a 78 to finish at 168 (+24) and in a tie for 32nd. Junior Madison Moran finished in 69th place.
The Lakers captured the team title with a 618 total after recording a 308 in the final round to go with a 310 in the first round, the two best team totals of the tournament. They outdistanced California (Pa.) and Ashland each by 12 strokes as they both shot 630. Not far behind was Indianapolis (632) with Augustana (645) rounding out the top five.
GVSU has now wrapped up the fall season of golf and will get ready for the spring season.
