Grand Valley State shot an opening round 299 at the Findlay Bing Beall Fall Classic at Sycamore Springs Golf Course and leads Ferris State by one stroke (300) heading into day two. Ashland is third (316) and Findlay is fourth (321).

Allie Tyler is in first place after shooting a one-under par 71, while Ashley Smith is tied for fourth after carding a 75 (+3). Caitlin Bennett is tied for sixth with a 76 (+4) and Kristina Langton is 10th after shooting a 77 (+5). Sarah Hoffman shot a 79 (+7) and is tied for 12th.
