Melissa Sneller is tied for second place with a 77 after day one.

Grand Valley State's women's golf team is in first place after day one of the Radisson Riverfront Classic held at the Meadows Golf Course on GVSU's Campus. The teams will finish play with 18 more holes on Tuesday.

The Lakers tallied a day-one score of 318, three-strokes in front of Ferris State and Oakland University, who both recorded a score of 321.

Leading the way for the Lakers, is Melissa Sneller who is tied for second place with a 77. Kristi Vienneau shot a 79 and is in sixth place, while Shannon Briggs is tied for eighth with a first round score of 80. Melissa Riegle is tied for 15th place (82), Laura Leatherman is tied for 36th place with an 86, and Kate MacDonald is tied for 41st with an 87.

Michelle Boogaard and Danielle Lambert are both tied for 15th place as individuals after shooting an 82. Roxanne Saladin is also playing as an individual and recorded an 85, which ties for 33rd place. Cindi Earle shot a 100.
