Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley State is third after the first day of action in the Laker Fall Invitational at The Meadows Golf Course on Monday (Sept. 2). The Lakers shot 326 and are five strokes behind Ferris State and four behind second-place Longwood.

GVSU was led by sophomore Shannon Briggs who shot a 78 and sits in fifth place as a individual. Melissa Sneller and Kate McDonald both tallied scores of 82 while Kristi Vienneau carded an 84.

The low round of the day was turned in by Grand Valley senior Marcy Jelsema who carded a personal-best 74 as an individual.

Action concludes tommorrow (Sept. 3) with a 9:00 am shotgun start.
