Findlay, Ohio - Grand Valley State continued its hold on fourth place at the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championship in Findlay, Ohio after 36 holes of play on Friday (May 15). The Lakers shot consecutive rounds of 309 and 317 on Friday after Thursday's round was postponed due to weather issues. Saturday (May 16) will conclude the four-day tournament.
The Lakers' three-round score of 936 (+72) is within three strokes of both Indianapolis (933, +69) and Rollins (934, +70), who sit in second and third place. Nova Southeastern sits atop the leaderboard after Friday's action with a team score of 923 (+59).
Tarleton State (945, +81), Florida Southern (947, +83), and Ferris State (953, +89) round out the top eight teams in the tournament.
Junior Ashley Smith is the top Laker on the board with a three-round score of 232 (+16) and a tie for 10th place. Junior Caitlin Bennett is one stroke behind (+17) with a 233, placing her in a tie for 12th. Freshman Sarah Hoffman and sophomore Kristina Langton are tied for 28th place, totaling a score of 237, which is +21. Sophomore Allie Tyler is in 45th place at +30 with a 246.
