Grand Valley State shot a 332 on day two at the NCAA DII National Championships in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida to maintain their fourth place position. GVSU is +80 as a team after two rounds of 332 on the par 73 course and sit only three strokes behind Northern Colorado. The Lakers posted the third best score of the day and were led by sophomore Melissa Sneller who fired a 77. Sneller, who is now +9 for the tournament, sits in fourth place individually.
Melissa Reigle shot an 80 on day two and is now tied with Shannon Briggs at +26 for the tournament. Briggs shot 88 on Thursday after an opening round 80. Kristi Vienneau fired an 87 and is +23 and in 23rd place after two days.
The eight teams will play two more rounds of 18 holes with the final round on Saturday, May 17. GVSU placed fifth at last seasons championships, which were hosted at The Meadows in Allendale, Michigan.
