Albuquerque, NM - Grand Valley State fired a second-round 299, but Rollins College, the two-time defending NCAA DII Women's Golf Champions, shot a tournament record 288 to draw out to a 16-shot lead in the second round of the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championship Thursday. The Tars navigated Albuquerque's UNM Championship course in four-under par, the lowest round in Division II Championship history. The Lakers hold the second spot for the second-straight day and matched Rollins in red numbers for almost all of the front nine, but could not keep the pace over the closing holes and finished at seven over for the day while posting 299. The Lakers trail the Tars by 16 shots and are clear of third-place Florida Southern by 17.

Grand Valley State All American Melissa Sneller posted a one-under-par 72 to go with Tuesday's 74 to stand-alone in second place at 146, one shot behind Rollins' junior All American Charlotte Campbell. Sneller was solid throughout the entire round with two birdies, one bogey and 15 pars. Campbell leads the Championship individually after shooting an even par 73. The Florida native, who only knows victory in this event after capturing the title for the last two years, shot 72 on Tuesday and is one-under par for the Championship.

Leatherman, who tallied two birdies on the day, has a two-round total of 153.Kristi Vienneau fired a one-over par 74 second-round and is also tied for 10th at 153.
