Lakers Advance To NCAA Women's Golf National Championship
 

 
 
 

 
Sophomore Melissa Sneller led the Lakers to a second place finish at the NCAA East Regional with a second place finish (235).
 
 
Grand Valley State advanced to the NCAA DII National Championship Tournament with a second place finish at the NCAA DII East Regional. GVSU shot a final round 323 to pull into second place with a three round total of 979, six shots ahead of GLIAC rival Ferris State. Longwood finished first with a 958. Grand Valley State advances to the NCAA DII National Championship May 14-17 in Howie in the Hills, Fla.

Melissa Sneller led the Lakers with a three round total of 235 which tied for second. Shannon Briggs finished 10th with a 247, while Kristi Vienneau, Melissa Riegle and Nikki Augustine all tied for 14th with at 252. This is the Lakers' second straight appearance in the NCAA DII National Championship and third in the young history of the program.
