Results

Grand Valley State finished in third place at the NCAA East Region Tournament held at Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Mich. The Lakers tallied a three round score of 916. Ferris State claimed the title with a 902, while Drury finished in second place with a 908.

Both Ferris State and Drury advance to the NCAA Women's Golf National Championships, along with the top two individuals not from one of the teams advancing. Junior Tracey Puckering from GVSU and Simone DeSouza from California PA will play as individuals at the championships. The National Championships will be held May 9-12, at Stonebrook Golf Club in Pensacola, Florida, and will be hosted by the University of West Florida.

Puckering finished in fifth place overall after firing a three round total of 226 (72, 75, 79). Freshman Ashley Smith tied for ninth place with a score of 230 (76, 79, 75) and freshman Caitlin Duval recorded a 231 (77, 80, 74), tying her for 12th place. Freshman Caitlin Bennett tied for 14th place after posting a score of 232 (78, 74, 80), while sophomore Michelle Boogaard finished in 21st place with a mark of 237 (78, 77, 82).

The Lakers were the two-time defending East Region Champions.
