Grand Valley State has a four-stroke lead after day one of the Women's Golf GLIAC Championships Saturday. GVSU tallied a first-round score of 316, four strokes ahead of second place Ferris State. The teams will finish the Championships with second round action on Sunday.

Leading the way for the Lakers, is Melissa Sneller who is currently in first place after shooting a first day score of 74. Melissa Riegle tallied a score of 79 and is tied for third place. Enid Gage shot an 81 and is tied for fifth palce, while Kristi Vienneau is in seventh place with an 82. Laura Leatherman tallied a first round score of an 84 to round of the scoring for the Lakers.
