Grand Valley State won the Tri-State Spring Invitational on Saturday, tallying a score of 315, 10 strokes ahead of second place DePauw University. The Lakers will compete at the GLIAC Championships hosted by Ashland University on April 23-24.
Senior Shannon Briggs won the individual title after shooting a 76. Junior Laura Leatherman tied for second place with a 78, while junior Kristi Vienneau shot a 79, which tied for fourth place. Junior Melissa Riegle and sophomore Kate MacDonald both posted a score of 82, which tied them for sixth place. Freshman Michelle Boogaard tied for 12th place with an 84, while freshman Tracey Puckering shot an 87, tying for 23rd place. Senior Cindi Earle rounded out the scoring for the Lakers with a 99.
