Urbana, Ill. - Ashley Smith and Tracey Puckering both tied for 28th place to help Grand Valley State University to a 10th place finish at the Illini Spring Classic. Both Lakers shot 239 and GVSU scored a team total of 970. The Lakers' next meet is the Ball State Invite in Muncie, Ind. on April 13-14.
After an 82 on day one, Smith came back with a 76 in the first 18 holes of day two. She finished with 239, the same as Puckering, to claim 28th place. Puckering shot a team-low 80 on day one and finished with 239. Kristina Langton earned a 35th place finish with a score of 242. Caitlin Benett and Michelle Boogaard finished one stroke apart at 254 and 255, respectively, good enough for 59th and 61st place.
