Junior center Julia Braseth earned her first GLIAC North Division Player of the Week honors of the 2005-06 season after leading the Lakers to two GLIAC wins last week. She averaged 17.0 points, and 8.5 rebounds, while shooting 54.2% from the field in the two wins.

Julia tallied a career-high 23 points, while adding eight rebounds and two blocks in the Lakers' 74-60 win at Northwood. She followed the performance with 11 points, nine rebounds, and two steals at home in GVSU's 70-39 victory over Findlay. Braseth currently ranks seventh in the GLIAC in field goal percentage (.516), 14th in rebounding (5.3 per game), and 24 in scoring (11.4 points per game).

Grand Valley will play two key GLIAC North Division games this week as they host Michigan Tech on Thursday, Feb. 16 at 6:00 p.m. and will travel to Lake Superior State on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 1:00 p.m.
