Grand Valley State dropped its GLIAC opener at Ashland, 82-75. The Lakers are now 2-4 overall and 0-1 in GLIAC play. GVSU will host Lake Superior State on Dec. 13 at 1:00 p.m.

The Lakers trailed, 42-31, at the half and could not cut the lead in the second half. The Eagles shot 51.9% from the field on the game and held GVSU to just 36.4%.

Grand Valley was led by senior center Julie Zeeff who tallied a team-high 27 points and 16 rebounds, while guard Janine Guastella added 13 points. Senior guard Cori Jewett recorded 12 points and freshman guard had four points, four assists, and four rebounds.
