Grand Valley State's women's basketball team defeated Tri-State, 72-52, Friday night and improve their record to 4-0. Jen Nielsen led the way for the Lakers with 11 points, six rebounds, five assists, and four steals. Julie Zeeff had a team-high 15 points and three blocks. Cori Jewett added 12 points and four assists.

GVSU led Tri-State 34-19 at the half and then increased the lead to 29 midway through the second and cruised to an easy victory. Diana Voikos scored eight points, five rebounds, and four assists and Laurie Rehmann added seven points , five assists, and five rebounds.

The Lakers improve to 4-0 on the season and play at Hillsdale Saturday at 6:00 p.m.
