Grand Valley State tallied a 73-66 GLIAC win over Saginaw Valley State Saturday night. The Lakers improved to 10-12 overall and 7-7 in GLIAC play.

GVSU recorded a 32-30 lead after 20 minutes of play and outscored SVSU by seven in the second half to pick up the win. The Lakers shot 52.0% from the field in the second half, while holding the Cardinals to just 38.7%.

The Lakers were led by freshman forward Julia Braseth who recorded 15 points and 10 rebounds. Senior center Julie Zeeff tallied a double-double as well, adding 13 points, 15 rebounds, and four blocked shots. Taushauna Churchwell was the other Laker to score in double digits with 10 points and four assists.

Grand Valley will host GLIAC archrival Ferris State on Monday, Feb. 16 at the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena at 6:00 p.m.
