Grand Valley suffered a 71-56 loss to Northern Michigan in a GLIAC matchup Thursday. Junior center Julie Zeeff led the way for the Lakers with 24 points and six rebounds, while Janine Guastella added 15 points and six boards. Laurie Rehmann chipped in 10 assists.

GVSU trailed NMU 34-19 at the half after only shooting 23% from the field. The Lakers came back in the second half, scoring 37 points and shooting 50% from the floor, but it was not enough to stop the Wildcats.

Grand Valley falls to 17-3 overall and 8-3 in GLIAC action. The Lakers will host Michigan Tech on Saturday, Feb. 1, in another GLIAC matchup.
