Grand Valley State picked up a 78-73 GLIAC win over Findlay Thursday night. The Lakers improve to 8-9 overall and 5-4 in the GLIAC.

GVSU shot 60% from the field in the first half, but still trailed by two at halftime (37-35). The Lakers continued their hot shooting in the second half and outscored Findlay, 43-36 to seal the win. Grand Valley forced 28 turnovers, while just turning the ball over 16 times.

Leading the way for the Lakers, was freshman forward Julia Braseth who tallied a team-high 19 points and six rebounds. Freshman guard Erika Ryskamp recorded 11 points and six assists, while senior center Julie Zeeff added 10 points and six boards. Freshman guard Taushauna Churchwell and junior guard Janine Guastella each added five steals for the Lakers.

Grand Valley will host Northwood University on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 6:00 p.m. before heading up north next week for three GLIAC road games.
