Grand Valley State picked up its fourth consecutive win Saturday afternoon as they defeated Gannon University, 80-74. GVSU improves to 7-8 overall and 4-3 in GLIAC play.

GVSU dominated the first half as they took a 37-18 lead at halftime. The Lakers shot 48.1% from the field, while holding the Golden Knights to just 18.5% in the first half. Gannon came out fighting in the second half and outscored the Lakers, 56-43. However, GVSU's lead and 53.8% shooting from the field in the second half, helped them seal the win.

Freshman forward Julia Braseth led the Lakers with 22 points and 10 rebounds, while senior guard Cori Jewett added 15 points. Freshman guard Taushauna Churchwell recorded 13 points and five assists and freshman guard Erika Ryskamp tallied 11 points and five rebounds. Freshman forward Megan Razavi had eight points, while senior center Julie Zeeff was held to just six points. The Lakers' four freshman accounted for 54 of their 80 total points.

The Lakers will travel to Saginaw Valley on Monday, Jan. 26 at 5:30 p.m. Grand Valley will return home to host Findlay on Thursday, Jan. 29 at 6:00 p.m. and Northwood on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 6:00 p.m.
