Findlay, Ohio - Niki Reams led Grand Valley State with 24 points and 8 rebounds as the Lakers captured an impressive 67-49 road win at Findlay Thursday night. GVSU improves to 9-4 overall and 3-1 in GLIAC action. GVSU will host West Michigan rival Ferris State Saturday night at the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.

GVSU built a 35-28 halftime lead and never looked back en route to the win. GVSU held Findlay to just three free throws for the first 6:11 of the second half and the Lakers led by as many as 20 points in the late stages of the game.

In addition to Reams, freshman Crystal Zick added 12 points, while sophomore Erika Ryskamp turned in a solid game with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 steals. GVSU shot 47.1 percent for the game and forced Findlay into 22 turnovers. The Lakers notched 13 steals as a team.

"This was a nice win and it was important for us to win on the road," said third-year head coach Dawn Plitzuweit. "Findlay is a solid team and this give us some positive momentum heading into the Ferris State game Saturday," added Plitzuweit.
