Dave Smith is in his first season as a volunteer assistant coach for the Grand Valley State women's basketball team.
Smith was a long-time high school girl's basketball coach in the Lawrence School Districts and Paw Paw School District. He is now a retired Lawrence Middle School and High School teacher.
Smith's focus will be working with the guards as well as developing game strategies throughout the year.
Head coach Janel Burgess says: "His experience as a head coach at the high school level and desire to impact young people in our program makes Coach Smith a great and welcome addition to our program."
