Steve Morgan will be working with the GVSU women's basketball team during the 2011-12 season as its strength and conditioning coach. Morgan has been working in the health and fitness industry for more than 16 years and joined StrengthEdge Systems LLC in September 2006 as Vice President of Content Development.

The Lansing, Mich. native, Morgan played baseball and graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Exercise Science. He is the founder and operator of Maximum Athletic Performance in Grand Ledge, Mich., which is the eighth training facility he has helped design. Morgan has also helped build training facilities in Germany, Cyprus, Tanzania, the United Arab Emirates, Sweden, and Pennsylvania.

As an educator for Life Fitness International, Morgan has conducted workshops in over 35 countries on topics such as strength conditioning, exercise physiology, and health club management. Morgan was invited by the Chinese government to perform a seminar on health club management in Beijing in 2000. The International Dance and Exercise Association (IDEA) selected Morgan in 1998 as one of the top twenty fitness professionals in the country.

Morgan has worked with various high schools teams throughout Michigan and with Aquinas College and the men's basketball national championship team at Mott Community College. He was a strength consultant for two seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers and worked with the Olympic sports and women's volleyball teams at Michigan State University.
