Allendale, Mich. - The Grand Valley State men's and women's cross country teams are heading into the GLIAC Cross Country Championships looking to continue their respective streaks. The men have won seven consecutive conference titles, while the women have won eight.

The men are ranked fourth in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll and are led by sophomores Tyler Emmorey, Paul Zielinski, Anthony Witt, Jeff Nordquist, Ryan Toth and senior Ross Faasse. Emmorey has been named GLIAC Runner of the Week, twice this year, while Zielinski has been named once.

Juniors Megan Maceratini, Amy Kolin, Katherine McCarthy and seniors Lynsey Ardingo, Jessie Vickers, and Leah Borns lead the women's team. The women have taken home the team trophy at three of their four events this year and are ranked second in the USTFCCA poll.
 

 

The meet gets underway Saturday (Oct. 24) at the Maple Leaf Golf Course in Linwood, Mich. at 11:00 a.m.
