The 2003 Great Lakes Regional Men's and Women's team championships were won by Grand Valley State University.

Grand Valley won the women's race with a total of 35 points. Also qualifying for NCAA Nationals for the women in the top four spots were Northern Michigan in second with 82 points, Southern Indiana in third with 96 points, and Wayne State in fourth with 141 points. Grand Valley State's Natalie Ewing was the individual winner of the women's race with a time of 21:31.3 and was named the 2003 Great Lakes Regional Women's Runner of the Year. Individuals qualifying for NCAA Nationals were Breanne Steffens from Southern Illinois, who finished second overall, and Kristina Owen from Michigan Tech who finished eighth.

Grand Valley State's men finished with a total of 46 points. Also qualifying for NCAA Nationals and finishing second for the men was Wayne State with 50 points. The men's race was won by Nick Allen from Wayne State with a time of 31:29 and he was named the 2003 Great Lakes Regional Men's Runner of the Year. The two individuals who will advance to NCAA Nationals are Brian Taghon from Southern Illinois, who finished second overall and Michael Nikkila, who finished fifth overall.

Grand Valley State's head coach Jerry Baltes was named the 2003 Great Lakes Men's and Women's Coach of the Year for the second consecutive year.
