Bay City, Mich. - Grand Valley State redshirt freshman Tyler Emmorey was named the GLIAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week on Wednesday (Oct. 8). Emmorey helped GVSU to a second-place finish at the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind. last Friday (Oct. 3).

With the Lakers placing five runners in the top-30, Emmorey recorded an 11th place finish, completing the course in 25:12. Grand Valley State had a team score of 104 points, finishing second out of 23 teams (Division I, II, III, and NAIA).

As a team, Grand Valley State remains number one in the latest regional rankings - the same position they've maintained since the preseason poll on Aug. 26. The Lakers compete at the Michigan Intercollegiate competition on Friday (Oct. 10) in Milford, Mich. at the Kensington Metroparks.
