Bay City, Mich. - GVSU sophomore Tyler Emmorey was named the GLIAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week on Tuesday (Oct. 6). Emmorey helped Grand Valley State to a second place finish at the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind. last Friday (Oct. 2).

The Lakers placed seven runners in the top-20, led by Emmorey, who was third with a time of 24:44. Grand Valley State recorded a score of 52 points, finishing behind North Central College, which totaled 46 points. GVSU finished well ahead of Eastern Michigan (93), UW-Stevens Point (106), and Notre Dame (217).

The Lakers will compete Friday (Oct. 9) at the Michigan Intercollegiate in Grand Rapids, Mich.
