Bay City, Mich. - Grand Valley State sophomore Tyler Emmorey (Cedar Springs, Mich.) was named the GLIAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week on Tuesday (Sept. 22). Emmorey finished third with a time of 25:20 overall and first among collegiate runners associated with a team at the Spartan Invitational in East Lansing, Mich. last Friday (Sept. 18).

The Lakers competed against top Division I schools, which included Michigan State, Eastern Michigan and Central Michigan. Emmorey led Grand Valley State, which had six runners place in the top 20.

GVSU is off this week and will compete next Friday (Oct. 2) at the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind.
