Grand Valley State's men's cross country team won its fourth straight GLIAC Championship title as they tallied just 17 points, 27 points ahead of second place Wayne State. Nate Peck earned GLIAC Runner of the Year honors, winning the 8,000 meter race in a time of 26:23.

The Lakers finished in the top four spots and had seven runners finish in the top 12. Freshman Chris Hammer finished in second place overall in a time of 26:44.5, while junior Christopher Pabst ran a 26:45.2 for third place. Senior Blake Terhune tallied a fourth place finish, running the race in 26:49.8. Senior Nic Gatlin rounded out the scoring for the Lakers, running a 27:00.2 for a seventh place finish.

Chris Hammer was named GLIAC Freshman of the Year, marking the sixth straight year the Lakers claimed Freshman of the Year honors. Last season Peck was named GLIAC Freshman of the Year.

Grand Valley State will look to defend its Great Lakes Regional Championship title on Nov. 5 as Ferris State will host the meet in Big Rapids, Mich. The Laker men have won the regional title three straight times.
