Grand Valley State's men's cross country team finished in 11th place at the Stegemoller Classic Pre-National meet hosted by the University of Southern Indiana, in Evansville, Ind. The Lakers tallied 262 points, while Lockhaven University finished first with 47 points.

Finishing first for GVSU was junior Dan Brown who finished in 36th place overall with a time of 26:25. Freshman Chad Zizelberg took 39th place (26:28), freshman Brad Hunter ran a 26:45 for 54th place, and junior Jason Prowant took 74th place with a 27:24. Sophomore Mick Tiffany followed closely behind, taking 76th place with a time of 27:29. Sophomore Matt Anderson tallied a time of 28:09 and freshman Andy Baalerud ran a 29:09.

Grand Valley will run in the Loyola-Lakefront Invitational in Chicago, Ill.on Oct. 2 at 10:00 a.m.
