2003: Gatlin competed for Olivet Nazarene University during the cross country season where he ran an 8K best of 25:32 and qualified for the NAIA Championship.

2002: Ran at Olivet Nazarene University where he recorded a season best time of 26:20 in the 8K for cross country.

2001: Redshirted the cross country season.

High School: Gatlin was a state qualifier in both track and cross country at Swartz Creek where he ran personal best times of 16:20 for cross country and 4:26 for the 1600. Gatlin was named Student Athlete of the Year at Swartz Creek.

Personal: Nic Gatlin was born to Dallas and Nola Gatlin. Gatlin is currently majoring in Psychology.
