Blowing Rock, N.C. - ZAP Fitness announced on July 11 that Nate Peck was added as a resident athlete to it's elite athlete roster for the 2008-2012 push. During his time as a runner at Grand Valley State University, Peck was a 15-time All-American in both track and field and cross country. He will be focusing on events ranging from the mile to the 10,000 meter over the coming years.
In the latest outdoor track season, Peck earned All-American honors with a third-place finish in the 5000-meter event. He holds numerous records at Grand Valley State, as well. He holds the school record in the indoor mile (4:07.55), the indoor 3,000 (8:15.84) and the indoor 5k (14:00.91). He was also a part of the record-holding indoor distance medley relay that finished in a time of 9:56.63. In outdoor track, Peck set the outdoor mile record this season at 4:05.14.
Peck earned All-American plaudits in four different events this season. He finished seventh at the Division II Cross Country Championships before earning two All-American finishes at the Division II Indoor Track Championships in both the 5,000 (Second Place) and the national championship distance medley relay. Peck was also the third place finisher in the outdoor 5k.
