Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley State had student-athletes competing at three different meets over the weekend, including the Len Paddock Invititational at the University of Michigan, the Dr. Keeler Invitational at North Central College and the Twilight Invitational at Aquinas College. GVSU will now travel to the NCAA Championships on May 24-26.
At the Len Paddock Invite in Ann Arbor, Mich., Tim Lelito finished fifth with a throw of 163'6" in the discus. At the Dr. Keeler meet in Naperville, Ill., Ryan Holm and James Gale both finished strong in the 5000 meter run. Holm finished second at 14:23.58 and Gale crossed the line fifth at 14:34.46.
Competing at Houseman Field in Grand Rapids, Mich., Guido Saltarelli took first in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:00.35. Nate Miller also claimed a first-place finish, clearing 6'6" in the high jump. Ryan Rademacher finished second in the long jump by leaping 23'10". In the discus throw, Lelito picked up another strong performance, claiming first place with a throw of 165'11", while Mitch Bosch came in third at 153'6".
