Big Rapids, Mich. - The Grand Valley State men's outdoor track & field team captured is fourth straight GLIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championship Friday afternoon at Ferris State University. GVSU tallied 255 points, well ahead of second place Findlay's total of 142.50. The Lakers also captured its fourth straight triple crown by winning the cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field titles in the same academic year.
"This was an awesome day for our men's program," said head coach Jerry Baltes. "Our kids competed in every event and displayed the same work ethic that they go about every day. We placed three or more among the top eight in eight events which is incredible," added Baltes.
GVSU had 12 events with multiple scorers, including eight in with three or more scorers and five with four placing among the top eight.
