INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Aleksas Abromavicius threw 192-7 in the discus at the Stan Lyons Invite, setting a Grand Valley State record and leading four Lakers in qualifying for the NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championships.
Abromavicius took first place and automatically qualified for the national meet with his record-breaking throw in the discus. He also took third place and provisionally qualified for nationals with a throw of 53-2.75 in the shot put.
Nate Miller and Tyler Emmorey also qualified while at the Stan Lyons Invite, hosted by Butler. Miller cleared 6-10.75 in the high jump to provisionally qualify and finish second, while Emmorey's fourth-place time of 3:53.41 in the 1500-meter event provisionally qualified him, as well.
Chris Hammer competed at the GINA Relays at Hillsdale College and provisionally qualified with a fifth-place time of 9:13.95.
