Grand Valley State posted four more NCAA Qualifying marks as they sent student-athletes to Emporia State and the throwers to Michigan State. The Laker men took 11th place at Emporia State, scoring 37 points, while the women tallied 25.5 points for a 13th place finish. GVSU will travel to Kalamazoo, Mich. for the Western Michigan University Meet next Saturday, April 22 at 10:00 a.m.

Junior Mike Stowe took ninth place in the decathlon as he racked up 6,381 points. Freshman Bryant Wilson placed sixth in the pole vault (15-07.00) and senior Brian Beach finished in seventh (15-07.00). Senior Kenny Coleman took fourth place in the 400 meter dash as he ran a time of 49.18 and sophomore Josh Pahl finished in eighth with a time of 49.61. Senior Joe LeFevre placed fourth in the 400 meter hurdles, finishing in an NCAA Qualifying time of 53.03. GVSU's 4x400 meter relay team ran a time of 3:14.88 for a second place finish.

Junior Rachel Duthler finished second in the pole vault as she cleared a height of 12-05.50, while Freshman Dianna Noonan tied for seventh with a mark of 11-05.75. Senior Pamela Treppa took fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 37-08.05 and senior April Szatkowski placed seventh in the 200 meter dash.

At Michigan State, senior Morgan Acre won the hammer throw with an NCAA Qualifying throw of 172-09. Senior Josh Harris took first place in the discus as he tallied an NCAA Qualifying throw of 162-00 and placed second in the hammer (170-07). Junior Nick Natale won the hammer throw with a mark of 179-00.
