Grand Valley State's men's track team posted a solid performance at the Bulldog Invitational on Saturday, breaking two school records and setting NCAA Provisional marks in both events.

Joe LeFevre ran a 52.96 in the 400 meter hurdles, which broke the old school record of 53.33 set by Mike Stowe in 2004. Nick Natale posted a throw of 56'02" in the shot put, breaking Laker assistant coach Jason VanElst's old record of 55'5".

"This was a great meet for our squads to see some in-state competition," said head coach Jerry Baltes. "We were fortunate to have great weather again as it aloowed for some very solid performances."

"LeFevre broke teammate Mike Stowe's school record, which was a great break through," added Baltes. "After being hurt last year, it was great to see Joe come back and have this outstanding performance."

The Lakers will travel to Knoxville, Tenn. for the Sea Ray Relays on April 14-16 and will also host the Al Owens Classic on Saturday, April 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Lubbers Stadium.
