Grand Valley State's men's track and field team is in second place with 36 points after day one of the 2010 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday (Feb. 26) night. The second and final day will begin Saturday (Feb. 27) in the Laker Turf Building at 1:15 p.m.
Peter Antor is in eighth place after four events in the men's heptathlon with 2,283 points, while Dewey Sinclair is ninth with 2,198. Jovon Faulk finished third in the 60-meter dash preliminaries with a time of 6.93 seconds.
In the 5000-meter run finals, Paul Zielinski captured GLIAC Champion with a time of 14:37.52, beating his previous provisional mark, while Ryan Toth took home third (14:43.17), hitting the provisional mark for the first time this season. The men's DMR of Larry Julson, Craig Rumpf, Austin Brown, and Pat Sage finished third with a time of 9:57.21.
In the field events, Ryan Rademacher finished second in the long jump with a distance of 22'7.25".
