Grand Valley State claimed its eighth straight GLIAC Men's Indoor Track and Field Championship in dominating fashion. The Lakers tallied 215 points, 117 points ahead of second place Ashland University. GVSU won eight individual titles and used superior depth en route to the title.

Junior Nate Peck won the individual title in the 1 mile run as he posted an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 4:11.81. Junior James Gale finished in third place with a time of 4:18.48 and senior Ryan Holm took fourth place (4:18.74). Junior Grant Fall ran a time of 4:20.14, which was good for a sixth place finish.

Junior Garron Lucius claimed the 55 meter hurdle title with an NCAA provisional time of 7.61, while senior Joe LeFevre finished in second place, running a 7.68.

The Laker men's 4x400 meter relay team of senior Joe LeFevre, freshman Justin Wiles, junior Josh Pahl, and sophomore Mackenzie Lucius won the GLIAC title with a winning time of 3:20.99.

Freshman Nate Miller claimed the conference title in the high jump, posting a provisional mark of 6-10.25. Freshman Robert Metellus won the GLIAC title in triple jump as he posted a mark of 45-07.75. Freshman Ryan Rademacher took sixth place with a mark of 42-11.50.
 

 

Senior Nick Natale placed third in the shot put with a throw of 52-07.50 and freshman Mitch Bosch took fifth with a mark of 50-09.25.

Senior John Collins ran a time of 1:55.45 in the 800 meter run, which was good for a second place finish. Junior James Gale placed fourth in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 8:40.42 and freshman Ross Faasse took sixth place as he ran an 8:43.26.

Sophomore Jake Hendrickson placed third in the 200 meter dash, running a time of 22.33, while junior Garron Lucius tied for fourth place in the 55 meter dash with a time of 6.58. Sophomore Mackenzie Lucius ran an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 49.44 for a fourth place finish in the 400 meter dash.

"This was a total team effort from our men and women," said head coach Jerry Baltes. "We had a lot of great performances over the past two days. We are very proud of our squads in what they accomplished this weekend."
