Laker Early Bird Gets Underway

Allendale, Mich. - After four events in the men's heptathlon, Grand Valley State's Peter Antor was the top Laker in the standings at the Laker Early Bird on Thursday (Jan. 7). Antor stands in second place with 2360 points heading into Friday's (Jan. 8) three events.

Antor ran the 60-meter dash in 7.36 seconds to score 759 points, followed by a jump of 19'08.75" in the long jump, giving him another 589 points. His shotput distance of 32'09" added 484 and he finished with another 528 points from his 5'06" high jump.

GVSU's Quinton Dennis finished day one in fourth place with 2280 points. Mark Badowsky of Saginaw Valley State is currently leading the event with a total score of 2647.

The Laker Early Bird will start back up Friday (Jan. 8) at 11:00 a.m. with the women's pentathlon, and then will resume the men's heptathlon at 12:05 p.m. Field events will get underway at 4:00 p.m. followed by the running events at 4:30 p.m. in the Laker Turf Building.
