2005: Finished 10th at the Aquinas Invite finishing the 8k course in 25:59...Finished 38th at the Sean Earl Loyola Invitational, running a 25:33...Covered the 4k course at Michigan Intercollegiates in 12:13.9 to finish 18th...Fought off an injury and ran to a 46th place finish at the NCAA National Championships, completing the 10,000 meter course with a personal best of 33:12.8.

2004: Finished 23rd at the GLIAC Cross Country Championships with an 8K time of 26:35...Helped the Lakers to a first place finish at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Meet with a 10K time of 33:28...Competed in the NCAA National Championship Meet for the first time finishing 90th overall with a 10K time of 34:44 helping the Lakers to a 6th place finish...Dubbed Academic All-American.

2003: Redshirted cross country. Young qualified and ran at the USATF Junior National Championship.
