BAY CITY, Mich. - The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced that senior Alex Switzer was the men's tennis Player of the Week on Tuesday. Switzer helped the Lakers maintain a perfect GLIAC record with an undefeated week.

Switzer played at No. 5 singles and No. 2 doubles in GVSU's matches against Lake Superior State and Michigan Tech. At second doubles, Switzer teamed with Matt Globerson to defeat Lake Superior State 8-6 and Michigan Tech 8-5. In his singles matches, he defeated Craig Bass of Lake Superior in three sets and Tech's Tim Viola in straight sets.

The Laker men were ranked sixth in the most recent NCAA regional rankings.
