Grand Valley State's men's tennis team dropped a 5-0 decision to Ferris State in the first round of the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Regional Championships held in Big Rapids, Mich. It was the Lakers first-ever regional appearance. GVSU ends the season with a 16-11 overall record.

Grand Valley dropped all three doubles matches and fell in both singles matches that were played. Jason Cole and Martin Hoch defeated Adam Sandusky and Kyle Dehne 8-5 at #1 doubles, while Mark Hammelman and Kyle Halberg picked up a 8-5 win over Kyle Klinge and Scott Gregory in the #2 doubles slot. Matt Hill and Francisco Gomez won, 8-3, over Mike Bambini and Nirun Raju at #3 doubles.

Halberg defeated Sandusky, 6-1, 6-0 in the #3 singles spot and Hammelman beat Raju, 6-3, 6-0 at #4 singles.
