The second-seeded GVSU men's tennis team saw its GLIAC Tournament run come to an end on Sunday morning. The Lakers fell at the hands of the top seed Northwood by a 5-0 count. Grand Valley was unable to record a win against the Timberwolves as it was swept in all three doubles matches and lost its first two singles matches. The Lakers will now await their matchup in the Great Lakes Region Tournament. They are currently ranked third; Drury and Northwood hold the top two spots.

In doubles play, Adam Sandusky and Tony Dang fell in the top slot to Teddy Mebounou and Marius Broek, 8-1. Patrick Troy and Justin Sauerbrey dropped an 8-5 decision to Sasha Nanninga and Carlos Canudas in the No. 2 doubles position. Also falling for GVSU was Alex Switzer and Matt Globerson, as they lost 8-3.

Northwood needed to play just two singles matches to defeat the Lakers. Mebounou took down Sandusky by a 6-1, 6-0 count while Nanninga triumphed over Globerson, 6-1, 6-2. The remaining four singles matchups were unfinished.

GVSU had won its previous five matches before falling to Northwood and ends the regular season with an 18-6 record.
