Grand Valley State defeated Michigan Tech, 5-0, in the first round of the GLIAC Tournament. GVSU advances to play rival Ferris State in the second round on Friday, April 15 at 2:00 p.m. The Lakers improve to 15-8 overall, while Michigan Tech falls to 9-7.

Grand Valley won all three doubles matches and two singles matches to seal the 5-0 victory. Sophomores Kyle Dehne and Adam Sandusky won, 8-6, at #1 doubles over Steve Musgrove and Chris Zellner, while juniors Kyle Klinge and Scott Gregory defeated Sean Cafmeyer and Rick Halverson, 8-4 in the #2 doubles slot. In #3 doubles, junior Nirun Raju and sophomore Michael Bambini picked up an 8-6 win at #3 doubles.

Sandusky defeated Yassine Borkadi, 6-1, 6-0 in #3 singles and Gregory beat Musgrove, 6-1, 6-0 at #5 singles.
