The Grand Valley State men's tennis team found the win column against GLIAC rival Ferris State on Thursday afternoon. Prior to the match, GVSU was ranked fourth in the regional rankings while Ferris State was third. The win improves the Lakers to 14-5 overall and 4-1 in GLIAC play. GVSU swept the Bulldogs in singles action and took two of three in doubles to tally the 8-1 victory. Next, the Lakers will take on Spring Arbor in Allendale on Tuesday, April 10th at 3:30 pm.

In the No. 1 singles slot, #11 Adam Sandusky defeated #6 Akshay Chellappa in three sets, 5-7, 7-5, 10-7. Freshman Tony Dang won his fourth match in a row with a 6-3, 7-5 win in No. 2 singles. Alex Switzer continued his winning ways with a 6-4, 6-2 win. Switzer has now won seven matches in a row and is 9-1 in his last 10. Patrick Troy, Brock Plangger won in straight sets while Matt Globerson earned a three-set victory in the No. 5 singles spot.

The Lakers took two of three doubles matchups from Ferris State. The team of Sandusky and Dang defeated Chellappa and Brian Anderson by a 9-7 score. Alex Switzer and Matt Globerson earned an 8-5 victory over Bryan Karazia and Elliott Pettit. Falling for the Lakers was the team of Justin Sauerbrey and Patrick Troy, 8-5.
